Strawberry Basil G&T
Barrel-Aged GinMethod:
To make the strawberry basil simple syrup combine water, sugar, strawberries and basil in a pot. Bring to a gentle simmer, and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat, and let steep for 15 minutes. Strain out the strawberries and basil leaves. Set aside and cool to room temperature.
In a tall glass of choice add the gin, simple syrup, lime juice, and ice. Top with tonic water and stir with a bar spoon. Garnish with a strawberry and fresh basil leaves.
